From the sheltered opulence of his royal chariot,

He observed, and felt the misery of others….

And thereafter, Siddhartha, the exalted Prince,

Renounced worldly pleasures & grandeur, to change forever,

To become an ascetic- Buddha- the enlightened…….

He gave sermons for inner and universal peace,

To eliminate turmoil & suffering, hatred & enmity,

But neither we, the people, nor the world changed,

Neither then,

Nor now…..

Leading us to the moot question?

As to whether the the world will ever change?

Or rather, will we, ever change?

And attain peace!
